U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has recently unveiled a final rule detailing an adjustment to the filing fee for Form I-907, commonly known as the Request for Premium Processing. This adjustment is intended to accommodate inflationary changes.

The initiative stems from the USCIS Stabilization Act, which established the existing premium processing fees and granted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the authority to revise these fees biennially. After maintaining these fees for three years following the Act’s passage, DHS has decided to increase the premium processing fees across all eligible forms and categories. This adjustment reflects the inflation rates from June 2021 through June 2023, as determined by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers.

Specifically, certain premium processing fees will see an increase from $1,500 to $1,685, $1,750 to $1,965, and $2,500 to $2,805.

The Full Table of Adjusted Fee

The revenue generated from this fee increase will be allocated towards enhancing premium processing services, refining adjudication processes, addressing adjudication demands, including reducing backlogs in benefit request processing, and supporting USCIS adjudication and naturalization services.

These fee adjustments are slated to take effect on February 26, 2024. It’s important to note that USCIS will reject any Form I-907 received with an incorrect filing fee if postmarked on or after February 26, 2024. For filings sent via commercial courier services like UPS, FedEx, and DHL, the postmark date will be determined by the date reflected on the courier receipt.
